Department Advisory Board

The Department Advisory Board (DAB) has been established to contribute to the improvement of academic and administrative processes of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, to assist in achieving the department’s strategic goals, and to strengthen its relationships with stakeholders. The Board is responsible for enhancing the quality of education, supporting the professional and academic development of students, and making recommendations aligned with sector needs.

The DAB consists of department faculty members, faculty members from within the university, representatives from public institutions and organizations in our province, faculty members from other universities across Turkey, and a student representative from our department. Additionally, representatives interested in joining the advisory board may apply and, upon approval by the department chair, may be selected as board members.

Duties of the Department Advisory Board

• Contributing to the determination of the department’s vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
• Providing recommendations to ensure that educational programs are current and aligned with sector needs.
• Contributing to the evaluation and development of existing undergraduate and graduate programs.
• Proposing projects and activities to enhance students’ academic success and thereby improve the department’s academic quality.
• Developing collaborations with public, private sector, and civil society organizations.
• Strengthening the department’s relations with the community and increasing its societal impact.
• Supporting accreditation processes and helping maintain the department’s quality standards.
• Monitoring the department’s performance indicators and offering suggestions for improvement.

In line with these objectives and duties, the Department Advisory Board aims to make significant contributions to the overall success and continuous development of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration.

The DAB convenes annually during the Fall semester and conveys its decisions to the department chair.
