The Political Science and Public Administration Program (Department) is concerned with the scientific and rational implementation of decision-making and policy-making processes in the state administration system, which includes central administration and local administrations. Within the scope of the curriculum, the department examines the structuring and management of public organizations at the local and national administration levels, which have gradually gained more importance considering the increasing impact of the globalization phenomenon, and focuses on the implementation of policies created at the supranational level. In this context, while political science is shaped on a plane where the disciplines of law, economics and finance intersect with the environment, space and society relations; public administration is a discipline that helps us understand and make sense of administrative, political, social and economic changes taking place at local, national and international levels.

The disciplines of Political Science and Public Administration offer a rich program framework regarding the theoretical discussions of the fields of politics and administration as well as their reflections in practice. Due to this characteristic, the department primarily trains the expert personnel needed for state administration and meets the expert personnel needs of central administration institutions such as ministries and their affiliated organizations as well as local administrations.
